This was my first home in India, and I thought it should have perfect interior design. One thing I missed after coming back from the United States was having a large pantry shelf in the kitchen. I took personal interest in the design of the pantry shelf, the cupboards, the glass case, and drawers. I made sure that each of them came with a set of duplicate keys. The carpenter handed the keys to me personally on the final day of the 2-month project. I meticulously assembled one set of spare keys on a keychain, and I kept it in a safe place. Somehow, both pantry shelf keys were missing. For almost 6 months, I furiously tried all the keys in the bunch of over a dozen keys at the pantry door. Every time, I winced at the agony of not having it when I was in the kitchen. It couldn’t have gone anywhere! It was inside the house, but I just couldn’t find it. Have you been there?
One night before bed, I felt totally frustrated, and as a last resort, I prayed for the first time about it and said, “God, show me where the keys are.” I felt really so silly, especially praying about pantry keys to the Almighty God who sets stars and the moon in their heavenly places. In my dream that night, I saw two keys connected by a grey thread. The next day when I woke up, I had forgotten all about my prayer and my dream.
My son was cleaning, and as I was getting ready for my devotional time with the Lord, I noticed my Bible wasn’t where it usually was. When I asked him, he said he put it in a drawer. As I pulled it out, I felt a shift in my spirit as I saw the two keys with a grey thread beneath the Bible. I knew they were the pantry keys. When I turned them in the lock, they fit perfectly!
It made me wonder why I hadn’t asked God for help earlier. I learned that you can ask Him about anything, no matter how small. He answers when you seek Him, even for the simplest things. All those frustrated moments, God must have wondered, “My daughter, why aren’t you asking me about it?”
Scripture
Matthew 7: 7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

One response to “Seek and You shall find”
First I cant imagine having locks on all the cabnets but , yes I have been there looking for many other things! He has been faithful so many times with missplaced things that its link an ongoing joke. Here we go again God!! I need you so much!
