Whispers from the Womb: A Conversation with God

Part 1: Before I Was Born – A Conversation in the Womb

God: “June, can you hear Me?”

Me: Whoa! What was that? I can hear something… but who are You?

God: I am your Father. Some people call Me God.

Me: Okay, God-Father—whatever You want to be called. But… where am I?

God: You’re inside your mother’s womb.

Me: Feels more like a tomb. It’s so dark in here!

God: Yes, but don’t be afraid. I’ve been right here with you. Watching over you for the past six months, waiting for your little ears to form—just the way I imagined. They’re perfect.

Me: You made my ears?

God: I did. I also made your sparkling eyes, wavy hair, soft belly, not too pointed nose and your tiny hands and feet.

Me: I can’t even see myself! I guess I’ll have to trust You on that.

God: Exactly. That’s the first step—trust. I gave you that beautiful brain of yours too. You’re already learning how to listen, and soon you’ll learn how to believe.

Me: Okay… but how do I know I can trust You?

God: Because you were My idea. I created you in My image—with purpose, with love. I’ve planned your life, not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Me: That sounds nice… but how will I know where I’m going once I get out? It feels scary. Is there some sort of user manual on how to do my life?

God: Oh, sweet June. It will feel scary sometimes. You won’t always know where you’re going. But if you keep listening to Me, I’ll guide your steps. (Proverbs 3:5–6) Soon, you’ll leave this little space and see the big, beautiful world I made just for you.

Me: Are there others out there like me?

God: Oh yes. I created people—men and women—in My image. And I filled the earth with animals, birds, oceans, skies, stars… but nothing compares to you. Just remember, when others try to tell you that you evolved from fish or apes, hold on to the truth. I made you. I made them. And I gave you dominion over all of it. (Genesis 1:27–28)

Me: That’s amazing! I was just sucking my thumb and listening to You. Do You think You could’ve made it a little longer?

God: (Laughs gently) Your thumb is just the right size. A few months ago, your hands was just tiny webbed paddle. I carved out the spaces—one by one—so you’d have five perfect fingers. Not too long, not too short.

I went through so many trials to get the shapes and colors just right—the bright red of the cardinals, the soft pink of the flamingos, the brilliant orange of the goldfish. The bear? That one was simple—just a big, lumbering blob of black. But the sparrow’s beak had to be small and precise. The lions and cheetahs needed sharp, swift teeth. I feed them all, every day.

But your hands—your fingers—those took real finesse. Because one day, you’ll use them to create beauty, just like I do. You’re going to be an artist—a painter—just like your Father.

Me: Really? What kind of artist?

God: The kind who reflects My heart. You’ll echo My designs—the delicate sparrows, the soaring eagles, the golden sun, and the deep, shifting hues of the sea.

I gave you imagination not just to create, but to draw near to Me—to glorify My name through beauty on the earth.

Every brushstroke will be a whisper of wonder, a reminder of the One who made you.

Me: That makes me feel special.

God: You are. And June, I feed the sparrows and dress the lilies of the field. Don’t ever worry about tomorrow. (Matthew 6:26–34) I will always provide.

Part 2: Designed With Purpose – The Artist’s Hand

Me: So… You’re saying You made all of me?

God: Every little bit. Your eyes, your laugh, your little jelly belly, and those tiny feet you like to stretch.

Me: I do like stretching, but that cord thing keeps wrapping around me. What is that?

God: That’s your umbilical cord. Think of it like your lifeline for now. You’re not breathing yet, but you’re alive. Oxygen, food, and everything you need are coming from your mama—through that cord. She’s breathing for you, eating for you, even praying for you sometimes.

Me: Whoa. That’s kind of amazing.

God: I know. It took ‘all  intelligence’ to design that umbilical cord to sustain you for 9 months without food, water or air. Not artificial intelligence, June—this is divine design. You’ll hear about ‘AI’ one day, but what I’ve done here is far beyond any machine. Every little detail of you was carefully crafted by My hands. I’m planning ahead for you.

Me: Planning ahead for what?

God: For your purpose. When you’re older, your hands will create beauty. You’ll paint, draw, and design things that bring joy. But even more, you’ll use your hands to serve, to lift, to hold others. You’ll bless people with those hands, June.

Me: That sounds like a big deal. What if I mess up?

God: Oh, you will. But I already factored that in. Your mistakes won’t cancel My plans. I’m not a God who gives up on people. I work all things together for good—for those who love Me and are called according to My purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Me: I hope I can love You back the right way.

God: You already are. Just by listening. Just by wanting to know Me. I see your heart, June. And even when you forget or wander off, I’ll still be here. I’ll never leave you or forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Me: Can I ask You something else?

God: Of course.

Me: Is that voice I heard… my mom?

God: Yes, it is. Isn’t it sweet? I gave her that voice. She used to sing to Me before she got busy taking care of your dad and life’s many demands. I still love when she sings. I wait all day to hear even a whisper of her heart.

Me: Will I sing too?

God: Yes. Your voice is already beautiful to Me. And I don’t care if it’s off-key or shaky—I just love when My children sing. Especially when they sing from the heart and worship me. I hang out in the praises of My people. (Psalm 22:3) It makes me blissfully dizzy sometimes.

Me: You really love sounds, don’t You?

God: I love relationship with my children, June. Sounds. Silence. Laughter. Tears. Prayers. It can be at home not necessarily only in churches.   I hear them all. Talk to Me often—it’s called “Prayer” out there. You don’t need perfect words. Just honesty. Pour out your thoughts to me. Just tune your heart to My voice like you’re doing now.

“For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10

God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him. John1:3

Part 3: Born for This – My First Breath and His Voice

Me: Hey God… something’s happening. My head feels like it’s being squeezed through a tunnel. Is this… normal?

God: Yep. It’s go-time, June. It might feel scary, but I’m right here. This is your birthday, June.

Me: I’m not ready! I liked it in here!

God: You are ready, even if you don’t feel it. The world needs your light. And I need you out there—to be My hands, My feet, My heart, and My voice. You’re My ambassador. You’ll tell people about My Son.

Me: Wait—you have a Son?

God: Yes. And you are My daughter. Just as special. But My Son, Jesus—He did something for you that no one else could.

Me: What did he do?

God: He died. So you could live. He came to earth, lived without sin, and died a painful death—on a wooden cross—just to pay for your sins. Because I hate sin. But I didn’t want it to separate Me from you.

Me: I won’t sin! I’ll be good just like you!

God: (Smiling) I know you’ll try. But you’ll fall and fail sometimes. You’ll hear voices that aren’t Mine—the enemy will try to make you forget who you are and why I made you. He’ll tempt you to live for the world, not for Me. But you’re not alone.

Me: So, what do I do when I mess up?

God: I already thought of that. When My Son returned to Me in Heaven to be at my right side, I sent the Holy Spirit to be with those who believe. He’ll remind you of My voice, My truth, and My promises. He’ll help you walk in the right direction. (John 14:26)

Me: Oh wow. That’s a lot to remember. My head really hurts, God.

God: Hang in there. It’s almost time. You’re being delivered—literally. Just one more push…

Me: I can’t breathe! I think I’m dying!

God: No, June. You’re being born. Feel that hand holding your legs? That’s the doctor. And… there it is. That little slap on your bum? There you go…. Let me breathe into you …..That’s your first breath!

Me: WAAAH! Is that your breath in my lungs?   Whoa—is that my voice?

God: Yes, it is. Beautiful, isn’t it? Every breath you take is a reminder—I’m with you.

Me: Why am I naked though? That’s awkward.

God: (Laughs) Who told you that you were naked?

Me: These lights are so bright. And… is that her? My mom?

God: Yes. She’s been waiting for you. Just like I’ve been. Go ahead—let her hold you. She already loves you. June, remember you are my light in this dark world. Keep shining at your best for my glory.

Me: Thank You, God for staying with me this whole time in my mummy’s tummy.

God: Always, My precious June. I’ve written every one of your days in My book. You’ll have joy. Pain. Celebration. Heartache. Life. Loss. But through it all—My Word will be a lamp unto your feet. I will never leave you nor forsake you. When you are lost, look up to me. I will fight your battles if you believe in me. Keep tuning into My Voice. Remember My promises. You, My precious child, were born for such a time as this!

💨 “In Him we live and move and have our being.” – Acts 17:28

Psalm 139

13You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
